Daniel Sarpong, PhD

Dr. Daniel Sarpong is the research professor of biostatistics of the School of Health Sciences, College of Public Services at the Jackson State University in Jackson Mississippi. He has an extensive research background, having served as the Jackson Heart Study Coordingating Center (JHSCC) Director and Senior Biostatistician, Co-Principal Investigator of the Jackson Heart Study, and Director of Data Management, Quality Assurance and Information Technology Unit of Jackson Heart Study. Dr. Sarpong was also, the senior biostatistician for the RCMI Translational Research Network Data Technology Coordinating Center at Jackson State University. Jackson State University, Jackson, Mississippi for 10 years. He worked in academia for over 20 years teaching mathematics and biostatistics at Delgado, Southern University in New Orleans, Dillard University, Xavier University, and Jackson State University. He also served as an evaluator on the project and provided statistical support for the project in general. With expertise in statistical analysis of various clinical and epidemiological studies, coupled with the management of large and longitudinal data, I will provide assistance in the design and development of the database and analytic plan of the project. Besides providing an expertise in data collection and management I will support this project in a significant way in the area of data analytics, which is essential in the development and production of reports and scientific presentations and publications.
