Our Programs & Research
Three pillars of community health — screenings, education, and research — working together to eliminate cardiovascular disease disparities in New Orleans.
Blood Pressure Screenings
We provide free blood pressure screenings at community healthcare events and school sites. Early detection of high blood pressure is critical to preventing heart disease, stroke, and kidney damage. Our trained volunteers and health professionals conduct screenings at community events, churches, barbershops, beauty salons, and schools throughout New Orleans.
Health Education
We provide accessible heart health education by connecting with community members and sharing practical tips on healthy lifestyle choices, disease prevention, and improving overall wellness. Our education programs reach individuals, families, and community groups through workshops, health fairs, church programs, and community events.
Community Research
We conduct community-based research to better understand health challenges, develop effective interventions, and improve health outcomes in our communities. Our research is grounded in community-based participatory research (CBPR) principles, ensuring that community members are active partners in the research process.
